Harrogate September 2025

In Harrogate, we had visitors from as far away as Exeter, plus members from Weymouth, Hastings, Kent, Bristol and Northumberland. Some stayed in Harrogate on the Friday night as we have two Premier Inns and two Travelodges close by. Three of us repeated last year’s evening get-together in Wetherspoon’s, driven by the central location and the low prices. 
We had three displays of aircraft and transport books, presented by Andy Hill (993), Martin Dawson (1300) and Nigel Ponsford (257). Our thanks go to all of them for their many efforts to make the hall more than just ordinary tables of books for sale. One new member was recruited and we sold a good number of past magazines, together with several new magazine binders.
There was insufficient interest in holding an auction due to lack of suitable items, and most of the visitors had left by 11.30 am. We thanked our regular caterer, my wife Margaret, who baked two eagerly eaten cakes for the occasion in her customary style.
